May Favourites

Sunday, 4 June 2017

May has been a bit of a hectic month for me, and seems to have ultimately flown by considering that I have spend most of the month revising and doing exams! For that reason, I have been a bit stuck for blog post ideas lately... but, I just knew that I couldn't go wrong with a Monthly Favourites post, to help me wrap up all the things I have been loving over the past few weeks!

Vinyl...

May saw me add to my record collection once again, and this time with two amazing albums that I have seriously been wanting to get my hands on for a very long time! Firstly, a trip to Sainsbury's (of all places) saw me purchase 'Definitely Maybe' by Oasis - I do already have their album '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?', but also adore my latest Oasis purchase too, as with songs such as 'Rock 'n' Roll Star', 'Live Forever' and 'Supersonic' featured, this is literally an album that I will never tire of listening to. Another album that I will simply never get bored of though, is 'London Calling' by The Clash... and this was in fact, the other album that I picked up on vinyl in May. I have wanted this particular album for such a long time, considering how much I have previously listened to it on Spotify - I again love literally every song on this album, and in all honesty think that the title track alone cements it as one of the greatest!

Moisturiser...

Whilst I was at This Morning Live a few weeks ago, I was given a few samples of a new moisturiser by Sanctuary Spa to try out. The moisturiser goes by the name of the 'Wet Skin Moisture Miracle', and is in fact a product that you put onto your skin whilst your skin is still damp, before you have dried yourself after a shower (but you have probably guessed that already from the name haha). I was rather skeptical about how this product would actually work when I first tried it out, however I needn't of pondered because it turns out that I have actually really liked using this moisturiser over the past few weeks - after applying to the skin, this product soaks in pretty quickly so you don't have to stand around freezing for ages waiting to dry yourself, and actually does a pretty good job of keeping my skin feeling nice and smooth all day long. Plus, knowing that I have to put on the moisturiser before getting dry is a big help for me, considering that I so often normally forget to put any moisturiser on after my shower!

A New Pixi Product...

Sometime in May, my Mom kindly bought me a lovely new Pixi product to try - that product being the 'Vitamin Makeup Mist', and due to my prior obsession with the Pixi Glow Tonic, I must admit that I was very excited to try out this new item of mine! Well, I can definitely say that this product has so far lived up to my high expectations for Pixi products... although, whilst I will say that this product has so far kept my skin smooth and refreshed, I won't say much more at this point, as I will also be writing up a proper review post about this product for you all to have a read of in the next few weeks.

Something that I have really rediscovered a love for this month, has to be my Morphe 35W Eyeshadow Palette, which after a good few months of sort of forgetting about (I know, how awful of me!), I finally got out again! Due to the weather brightening up a bit over the past few weeks, this palette has been my go-to for subtle summery looks - the pink and orange shadows in particular have been perfect for creating warm makeup looks, and have ultimately helped to put this wonderful palette at the forefront of my collection once again.

The Sunny Weather...

I don't think that I could really end this May Favourites post without talking about how much I have enjoyed the sunny weather we have experience over the past month. Okay, so some of May featured never ending rain and grey days, but as we neared the end of the month, the weather did seem to improve a fair bit - being able to wear my summery clothes once again, and to wake up to the sun in the morning was a pretty lovely feeling, and I really do hope that this nice weather continues on into June!

All that's really left for me to say now then is that I hope you all had a lovely May... oh, and of course have a lovely June!

  3. If you liked the Sanctuary Spa moisturiser, you might like Body Conditioner from Lush - you apply it when you're in the shower, and then rinse it off. Leaves your skin smelling lovely and feeling so moisturised and soft! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

  4. I tried the Dewy Makeup Mist by Pixi and I loved it! The squirty part was so harsh though - definitely doesn't come out like a mist!
