A couple of weeks ago, I decided that it was finally time to have a clear out of some of my old makeup, and an area that definitely required particular attention had to be my vast collection of nail polishes! In all honesty, I can't remember for the life of me the last time that I properly went through my box of nail polishes and had a clear out - therefore, I was pretty disgusted by the state of some of the bottles and the liquid inside of them, by the time I finally got round to having a clear out.
With the collection reduced considerably, I then thought it only right to go out and buy myself a new nail polish, and upon entering Boots, I of course found myself immediately gravitating towards the Essie stand. Most of my remaining collection is probably made up of Essie polishes - after trying out a number of different brands over the years, I have to say that Essie has slowly crept it's way up to the top of the rankings for me (don't get me wrong, I do also love OPI), and if it was up to me, I would probably just own the whole shade range that they offer!
Anyway, as soon as I was within close distance to the Essie stand, I just knew which shade I would have to purchase - screaming at me from the top shelf was the most beautiful green shade, that was to be honest the sort of colour that I had been looking for for quite a long time. The name of the shade in question is 'On the Roadie' (you can also find it HERE, if you love the look of it as much as I do), and it was actually a part of the Essie spring collection which I must say does contain some other lovely colours too... however, once I had set eyes on the green, I just knew I had to get it!
For £7.99, I don't really find the Essie polishes to be all that extortionate - I know that there are a lot of other cheaper brands out there, but I do think the Essie polishes are of a really high quality, and therefore due to their easy appliance and good ability to stay on the nails, I definitely do not mind parting with my money. Plus, as soon as I got the chance to apply 'On the Roadie' to my nails, I must say that I really just fell in love all over again...
The green really may not be to everyone's taste, but I am all about lovely bright colours on the nails (especially now that it's spring!), and what with green being up there with my favourite colours, I must say that this polish just really ticked all the boxes for me!
