Ever since I saw the emergence of the new MAC Strobe Creams on their website a couple of months back, I just knew that I had to add one to my collection sooner or later. Therefore, when I recently found myself near a MAC stand, I immediately went on the hunt for the strobe cream selection, and in fact managed to get my hands on one of the last bottles in store!
I wasn't originally all that sure which shade of Strobe Cream would suit my skin the best, but thankfully the MAC assistants steered me towards Silverlite, which I of course now know suits my skin rather perfectly indeed. This wonderful item did however cost me £24.50, which some may think is a tad expensive (especially when I did splash out £41 on my Modern Renaissance palette little under a month ago as well), but from my past MAC purchasing experiences, I know just how fantastic their quality almost always is, and I had seen more than enough positive reviews on these particular Strobe Creams to convince me that my purchase was worthwhile!
Of course then, as soon as I got my new makeup addition home, I proceeded to try it out! One thing that I really love about this item is it's flexibility - you can either pop on some of the product under your foundation (the foundation that I am currently using and loving is the Smashbox Studio Skin), or just blend a bit into the foundation itself, and achieve a really lovely glow either way. Furthermore, I do think my reasonably sized bottle of Silverlite Strobe Cream will go a very long way, considering that literally only a small dollop of product is actually needed to achieve the desired radiant effect, and leave your skin feeling hydrated all day long.
(I thought I would also just add in a photo of what the product actually looks like when it comes out of the bottle too - I was going to include a photo of what it looked like when blended into the skin too, but it wasn't really showing up very well on camera, so sorry about that...)
I personally suffer with dry skin in several areas on my face, and so by using this product over the past couple of weeks, I have definitely seen an improvement in the way that my makeup tends to sit and look throughout the day. Beforehand, on my t-zone and nose in particular, I used to experience my foundation and concealer looking rather clumpy after a few hours of wearing it, due to the dry patches reemerging yet again - however, on the several occasions that I have been using my Strobe Cream so far, my makeup has managed to stay looking rather smooth for the majority of the day, which is of course, a big plus!
I will definitely have to see how my use of this product continues, and whether my happiness at it's effects continue, but from what I have seen so far, I can definitely say that I feel very happy indeed to have parted with my money for the MAC Strobe Cream. The Silverlite colour suits my pale skin incredibly well, and the overall consistency leaves my skin feeling really quite nourished (without feeling tack or sticky too)!
