Birthday Shopping!

Sunday, 5 February 2017

Last weekend, it was my Birthday and because of that I thought what better way to spend my time than to go and have a good old spend! In all honesty, I probably didn't buy as much as I originally thought I would, but despite that I still thought it would be nice to share a bit about some of my purchases here with you today...

One of my first ports of call (as per usual), was HMV where (as per usual) I headed straight towards the Vinyl section. My Vinyl purchasing has got a little crazy lately, after I perhaps took my New Year's Resolution to expand my collection a little too far - over the past month alone I have increased my record collection by a serious amount, yet this certainly didn't stop me from buying two more records when I went into HMV during my birthday spend! With some money left over on a voucher, I decided to go all out and buy myself two more Smiths records, 'The Queen is Dead' and 'Meat is Murder', and have been seriously loving listening to them ever since... although, I have now vowed to cease my vinyl spending for at least a couple of months!

Next up, I decided that a new makeup purchase was almost definitely on the cards, and after browsing around the MAC counter for a little while, I happened to spot a product that I had been wanting to try for a fair amount of time. Since I saw the MAC strobe creams appear on the MAC website a few months back, I had been wondering just how good they might be, and just how radiant they might make my skin look - well, a quick swatch of the Silverlite strobe cream absolutely sold me on making the £24.95 purchase, and once I have fully tried and tested this new product of mine, I will certainly be back with a review of sorts on it!

I also thought it rather important to buy myself some clothes, and although the shops are in a bit of a strange stage at the minute (the time period in between seasons is always the worst), I did still manage to find myself a couple of cute items. In Hollister amidst their new, rather cool range of slogan tees, I stumbled across a MTV tshirt with a bit of a quirky distressed look, which for only £17 I thought would look nice when paired with some black cigarette trousers or perhaps some boyfriend jeans too. In Primark, I also managed to find a nice checked shirt which will also hopefully look really lovely when worn with black trousers or jeans - and for only £10 was certainly a bit of a bargain!

I do love my rings, and therefore thought that considering it was birthday I would invest in a new (marginally more pricey) ring, as a fair few in my collection are now starting to look a bit tarnished due to the fact that they are really just cheap fashion rings that I picked up in sets. So, when passing Accessorize I decided to pop in and take a little look at the rings that they had on offer - they in fact had a lot of cute, sterling silver rings in store, but in the end I opted for the one you can see in the picture below which for £12, I hope will last a little longer, and not go turning my finger purple any time soon!

I hope you all enjoyed this round up of Birthday purchases though - although I didn't end up buying as much as originally intended, I do suppose that I will continue spending my birthday money in the following weeks too, and will certainly share future purchases with you as well!
