Last year, after never having tried a fragrance by Yves Saint Laurent before (although I always say YSL due to a pronunciation difficulty with the actual name), I decided that I would really quite like to try the Black Opium perfume - after spritzing some on myself instore, and instantaneously falling in love with the scent, I did proceed to drop several hints about this particular perfume until I received it as a present for my birthday a few weeks later.
Anyway, since then I have been wearing my Black Opium perfume pretty much everyday due to it's lovely scent (it also has the cutest, glittery little bottle)... so of course, when I saw an advert depicting the new YSL fragrance a few months ago, I again felt inclined to go ahead and investigate.
This new fragrance, which goes by the name of Mon Paris, also happens to smell rather fabulous - it has the same sort of strong scent as the Black Opium, but is still beautiful in it's own individual way! With it nearly being Christmas at the time that I first smelt this fragrance, I thought it wise to wait a while and maybe make it my Duty Free purchase at the airport before my Christmas visit to Spain. In all honesty, I don't really know if by getting this perfume at the airport I saved any money, but the more I think about it, it really doesn't matter - this perfume is literally just so lovely, that the rather high price tag (around £47 for 30ml) seems pretty worthwhile.
As well as smelling gorgeous, again the bottle of this fragrance is really rather cute too, and I really do love how it looks on display in my room with it's sweet little black bow around the lid . Since starting to wear Mon Paris, I have also started to receive quite a lot of compliments on just how lovely it smells (something that I'm definitely going to be complaining about any time soon), as for some wonderous reason, it's scent seems to linger about me for literally the whole day!
Sorry that this post has only been very short, but I really did feel it necessary to share my new fragrance purchase with you all, considering how happy I am with it myself!
I would however, love to know the names of some of your favourite fragrances too (inspiration is definitely necessary when it comes to perfume), so please let me know some of your most adored in the comments below!
