So, I promised a post on the beauty that is the Fortune Favours the Brave Palette a couple of weeks ago now, and finally after getting through all the other things I have wanted to post about in recent times, I have got round to fulfilling said promise!
I just knew that I had to dedicate a single post to this beautiful eyeshadow palette, as I had in fact wanted to buy it for myself for quite some time after seeing several rather appealing images of it on social media and other blogs that I enjoy reading. For that reason, when I saw it sat before my very eyes on the Makeup Revolution counter in Superdrug it was almost instinctual that I reached forth, grabbed it and headed straight to the till to buy it- for just £10, and with 30 eyeshadows inside how could I not have!
I do already own several other Makeup Revolution items, and have to say that since buying all of them I have struggled to find any faults in them at all really. The prices of all of this brands products are fantastically low, and what's more the quality of them is still incredibly high- the first eyeshadow palette that I bought from Makeup Revolution was again very cheap like my new palette, and all the shadows inside were very pigmented and beautiful (as well as the evident beauty of the Fortune Favours the Brave palette, this knowledge of the shadows being very good quality, really did attract me to go in and buy another palette for myself).
Compared to many other palettes out there, £10 doesn't really seem like anything to spend on such a product; the packaging of it is sleek and professional looking, plus when you get 30 eyeshadows of varying colours and styles (some are shimmery, whilst some are more matte) you really can't grumble. In the below image, you can clearly see the wide range of shadows included in this palette and the names of each colour which comes along on a little sheet atop the inside of the shadows. With a range of eyeshadows this big, the combinations and eye looks that you can create really are endless- this is another reason why I was drawn into this palette, as it doesn't focus on just one area (like smokey eye or natural eye) and instead provides literally ever shadow you could want!
Considering the hype that surrounds this product, I thought it might be nice to also share a little example of an eye look you can create with the eyeshadows included, as a way of hopefully showing those of you interested in this product how good it actually is...
Above, I have swatched and labelled each of the eyeshadows that I used to create a sort of natural eye look that can be worn both on an everyday basis, or with a more full face of makeup. To start this look off, I firstly brushed some of Soft (1) all over my eyelids as a base of sorts, and then applied a coat of Buffer (2) on top of that to start adding some colour. Next, I swept some of Latte (3) over my lids, before popping some of the darker Caffeine Fix (4) into my creases before blending outwards (using the Real Techniques Shading Brush, which is amazing!). To finish off the look, I added a couple of the shimmery shadows on top- first I dabbed a little of Golden Coins (5) on, then topped that with some Super Gold (6) to really make the eyes pop!
Of course after that, I also applied my usual eyeliner and mascara to complete my eye makeup of the day, but as you can see with this palette creating quite a vivid look is pretty easy, and often only requires a few colours due to the high pigmentation of each anyway!
As you can probably see, above I have also attempted to include a photo of me sporting the described eye look- sorry that it isn't all that clear, but hopefully you can kind of get an idea of the look I created from the picture anyway. It is quite a deep, bold eye look, and therefore pretty perfect for going out (more dressy occasions), as well as in the day also.
I'm really quite bad at showing how to create certain makeup looks, but hopefully you did enjoy this post and at least got a little idea of what the Fortune Favours the Brave palette is like, and why you should defintely go ahead and make the purchase if you are a bit on the fence with it. All I can say to end is that it is a completely fantastic palette, full of all too many stunningly pigmented eyeshadows and is available for a very fair price...what's not to like?!
