I had been incredibly excited (that's probably a bit of an understatement) for my holiday to California for months upon months before the trip finally took place. Of course, I was ecstatic at the thought of visiting Disneyland, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, but I was also pretty thrilled to be returning the amazing, cosmetic filled isles of Target...
Throughout my two weeks in the US, I payed several well-earned visits to Target, and treated myself to a fair few beauty items- in this post, I will just be sharing my thoughts on a few of those new additions to my makeup collection (however, me being me, I didn't just buy the five items below and actually bought a few more in my haste to purchase a bunch of the cosmetic items I had been longing for, but I will sharing more detailed reviews on those over the next few weeks).
First up in this mini haul-of sorts, is the rather lovely looking Lash Sensational Mascara by Maybelline. This cost me $6.99 which was roughly around £5.28 when I converted it, and if I was to buy it here in England, from Boots for example, it would cost £5.99- this clearly wasn't really much of a saving, but I don't mind paying this price, as I do find it to be a rather reasonable amount for a drugstore mascara and have also seen quite a few people hype up it's quality over the past few months.
Sadly, I can't really state my own opinion on this product yet though, as I am yet to give it a go myself. Within my makeup collection, I do have several mascaras on the go already, and would rather save this one for a while and not just open it up to then not use it, so that it dries out. I do think the mascara bottle does like quite pretty though, and am very excited to open this product up over the next few months and try it out (I will definitely be right back here with a review on this mascara as soon as I start wearing it for myself)!

Another item that I bought in Target was an EOS lip balm (or Eos lip balms, considering I bought two of the lovely little things). When I visited America last, in 2014, it was just by chance that I picked up a single Eos balm by the till in Target- that lip balm has long since been used, but after using it to care for my dry lips over the last couple of years, I just knew I had to treat myself to a couple more of these beauties on my recent trip!
You can buy these products in the UK, but I have noticed on the most part that they are considerably more expensive than most other lip products we have over here, and would definitely cost more to purchase from say Boots or Asos than if you were to buy them in the USA (I think anyway). Over in Target, my Blueberry and Strawberry balms only cost me $2.99 each (a price I definitely didn't mind paying, for two products that will undoubtedly keep me going for the foreseeable future).

Up next, is the Loreal Lumi Cushion Foundation, which again is a product that I have wanted to try out for myself for quite some time after seeing numerous photos and posts on it circulating through my social media feeds. This foundation cost me $14.99 (which I converted to about a price of £11.30) and costs £14.99 here in the UK- which is a bit of a saving, but I did still feel a little unsure about this price, as for a drugstore item I don't really believe it to be all that cheap and I know that in the past I have bought foundations from similar brands for a bit less.
However, the whole style of this foundation (from its packaging, to its application and finish) really compelled me in, and as soon as I saw it sat on the shelf in Target, I immediately went straight in and bought it for myself. Thankfully, I can now say that I am very happy that I did purchase this product, as after using it a fair few times as my makeup base, I just know that I am going to keep on using it for weeks and months to come (and will probably even repurchase it in the future)!

Finally, there's the Essie nail polish I bought- although I own an awful lot of nail polishes already, in my opinion you can simply never have enough, and I knew for months in advance that I wanted to buy myself at least one new nail product while I was in Target.
I did just that, and bought myself the lovely nail polish below in the shade In Stitches (It cost me $8.99 which when converted is apparently £6.80, and although you do save a little, I did think when I saw the prices that I remembered the Essie polishes being cheaper on previous visits in years gone by, but perhaps I just imagined that). So far, I have only worn this nail colour out on just the one occasion, but as it's such a gorgeous shade I can imagine that I will be wearing it a lot more over the next few weeks and months.

And there we have it; a small roundup of several of the makeup items that I recently purchased from Target. There was an awful lot of products and brands to choose from in the stores I visited, just as there was in the Sephora's that I popped into as well, but I have to say that overall I am very happy with my purchases (and hope you enjoyed reading about them as much as I did buying them)!
