I, like many others, suffer from bouts of dry skin. These patches can appear on my arms, my legs, my face, even my stomach, so for that reason I am rather equipped with a whole host of moisturisers and creams ready to get my skin feeling smooth and fresh again in no time.
Today, I therefore thought I would share some of my current favourite moisturisers- these items have definitely faired well in recent times when it comes to battling drying, and hopefully by telling you all a little about each, they will also prove helpful to you too...
Neal's Yard Body Lotion...not only is this lotion super helpful at keeping my skin smooth, it also smells gorgeous (it's reportedly meant to smell like Geranium and Orange, but to me simply smells like the fragrant scent of Turkish Delight). I also actually received this bottle in a magazine some time last year, which is pretty amazing considering that I paid so little for such a big bottle, that simply never seems to run out. If you were actually to go out and buy this though (and not receive it as a free gift like me) it would cost you up to £20, which seems a little pricey when you can pop into Boots and get a moisturiser for say, a couple of pounds. However, this body lotion is really very good, and does live up to the great standard that Neal's Yard usually set with their products- after applying, my skin does seem to stay pretty hydrated for quite some time, and unlike some fragranced moisturisers this one doesn't cause havoc with my skin either.
Cowshed Body Lotion...I really love the names of all the Cowshed products (this one being called Grumpy Cow), but rarely find myself using or buying such products as they definitely aren't on the cheap side (again, an average sized bottle can cost about £20). However, I received this bottle as part of my Advent Calendar last year, and have recently started using it (and have also recently started loving it)!
The smell of this body lotion isn't as nice as the Neal's Yard one in my opinion, although it does still smell nice, and it also seems to work wonders on my skin. This lotion is advertised as 'uplifting' on the bottle, and 'uplifting' I have to say it actually was- as soon as I popped on this product, my arms and legs immediately felt fresher, and with such a cute sized bottle, this product will be perfect to take away with me to keep my skin hydrated whilst travelling.
Roger&Gallet Hand and Nail Cream...I never really used to be into hand creams- the greasiness of them on my hands, and the rather pungent smell of many of the more expensive ones certainly put me off. However, I am very much prone to getting dry hands (which is definitely not an attractive feature), so when I received this hand cream a few months back I thought I would give it a bit of a try. And what do you know? It actually turned out that I really loved this handcream- it really soothes and cares for the chapped skin on my hands, whilst smelling quite beautiful with it lovely scent of Shea and Fig. However, if I were to actually go out and rebuy this product it would cost £6, which I don't think is all that bad as it isn't like I get through hand cream incredibly quickly anyway!
Simple Light Moisturiser...I definitely think that with Simple Skincare products, you really can't go wrong. When it comes to face products, they really do have it nailed- this moisturiser is perfect to daub all over my face to combat any dry areas, as it immediately soothes without clogging up the skin, or making it look greasy.
Simple products don't really have the luxurious scent of some of the other lotions out there, but this is becuase this brand is directing caring products at those with sensitive skin. This makes this face cream absolutely perfect for the more volatile areas of my face that I know are to break out in blemishes if am to use anything out of the ordinary. For around £4 (although this is a small gift set bottle, that is the perfect size for travelling), this product is perfect if you have patches of dry skin that you want smoothing out, to create flawless complexion under makeup, or without!
And there you have it...four of my current favourite dry skin saviours, that I honestly couldn't live without when it comes to combatting the problem of rehydrating my skin.
I hope you all enjoyed this post!
