Thank you for reading,

Another Mini Haul...

Saturday, 30 May 2015

You're probably reading the title of this post and thinking that I only did I haul several days ago. Don't worry, I know and it's only because I am off school at the moment that I am shopping so frequently. My last haul was from Birmingham, but this time I visited Meadowhall in Sheffield. I want to firstly say how much I liked Meadowhall- it is an amazing shopping centre and perfect for anyone who loves fashion, beauty or just shopping in general.

For this small haul, I went to Dorothy Perkins, Hollister, H&M, Primark and the Models Own Nail Bar that is in the centre of Meadowhall.

1. Models Own Nail Polish in Chrome Muave- £5- In the centre of Meadowhall they have a little Models Own bar perfect for anyone who loves nail polishes and Models Own Makeup. They have tonnes of nail polishes, in literally every colour you could think of- but I chose the Chrome Mauve as it is very pretty and different from any other nail polish I currently own. The little mirror featured with this polish was a free gift from the bar, which I think is a very sweet gesture.

2. Dorothy Perkins Sandals- £8- I recently featured these sandals on my Summer Fashion Wishlist, but with a lilac strap instead of a silver one. I had intended on purchasing some in lilac, but when I got to the store I discovered that I actually preferred the silver as I thought they would go with more outfits and would probably not get as dirty as the lilac is a very light colour. I think I also said on my Summer Fashion Wishlist that these sandals are £10- I think they normally are £10, but when I purchased them there was 20% off.

3. Hollister Shorts- £25- and Hollister Striped T-shirt- £14- Hollister is definitely one of my favourite shops, but I love it especially at this time of year because they sell such cute summery clothes. I had been looking for a pair of patterned shorts for a while and as soon as I saw these I knew they were perfect- they are so comfy and will look great with just a plain crop top or camisole. On the other hand, the stripy T-shirt I bought was kind of just an essential wardrobe staple that I wanted to buy to wear with jeans and I suppose also with shorts when the weather gets a bit better.

4. H&M Jumper -£3- I only really went in H&M because I noticed that there was a sale on, but typically when I found this sweatshirt I discovered that it was full price still... Or so I thought. I went to the till and in fact it was actually £3, which I think is pretty amazing considering the prices you can pay for sweatshirts in other high street stores. I really like the style of this particular sweatshirt- it is baggy and slouchy which is what I normally look for in this kind of item. I'm not too sure what the writing says on the front :-), but never mind.

5. Primark Clutch Bag-£6- When I knew that I needed to buy a clutch bag for an upcoming wedding that I'm going to, I knew Primark was the place to go. They have so much choice in their bag and purse department and the products are always cheap. I wasn't wrong when I made this assumption, as I immediately spotted this particular clutch bag (just plain black and simple) for the great price of £6!

6. Primark Simpsons Pajamas - £8- I love the Simpsons, and when I went into Primark a couple of weeks ago I got really excited when I discovered that they were doing a line of Simpsons Pajamas. On that occasion, I purchased a pair of Pajama bottoms with the Simpsons characters on. But this time, I saw the range again and decided to get the Krusty Burger t-shirt and shorts set because for £8, what's not to like for a Simpsons fan.

Current Netflix Favourites

Thursday, 28 May 2015

Hello Everyone,

I regard my blog to probably be a lifestyle blog, as it isn't just sorely about one topic. I mostly post about fashion and beauty, but I really want to start creating more lifestyle based post as I'm also interested in writing in that field. So today I thought I would talk about a topic that is quite readily associated with lifestyle- Netflix.

In this post, I will just be talking through five of my current favourite things on Netflix UK- I understand that not everyone has Netflix, but most of the things I am going to talk about today are movies that are shown on TV and that you can watch on DVD etc.

There is only one TV show currently in my favourite things to watch on Netflix, and that is Pretty Little Liars. I have tried and tested other TV series, but I have never been able to get into them like I have with this show. I began watching it early on in the year and got completely up to date about a month ago...

The show is about a group of girls, whose friend and ring leader Alison goes missing. Around a year later a body is found which the police identify as Alison. But then, the girls start getting mysterious texts off someone known only as 'A', that threatens to expose some of their darkest secrets, secrets only Alison would have known. This leaves the girls wondering who this mysterious person is, and it leads them on all sorts of nerve-wracking adventures to find out once and for all.

I will admit, that some episodes are a little slow and not as great as others. But for the most part, I really enjoyed this series- it has many great plot twists and turns throughout and I can't wait until series 6 comes out soon.

I always used to think that Netflix didn't really have any great films, and was there sorely just for TV series. But lately, I have proved myself wrong by finding a whole host of movies that I actually really enjoyed. One of them in particular is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...

When Clementine decides to erase her painful breakup with Joel from her memory, he too decides to have the procedure done. We then get an insight into Joel's mind as he slowly loses all memory of Clementine, right up until the her last words of 'Meet me in Montauk'.

This film can be a little confusing, as it is mostly based around psychology and the way memories work. But at the same time, I think it is a really sweet love tale that arcs in the most beautiful way.

Another film that I have recently really enjoyed on Netflix is Sliding Doors, a film that was in fact recommended to me by my mum...

In this film, we see Helen's life from the different angles of whether she gets on a train or not. In both scenarios, we see Helen's life changed by love, work and all manner of other opportunities that show that a few seconds or a certain decision really can change your life.

I really like how this film plays the two scenarios of what could be, parallel to one another. The whole theme of the movie really makes you think, as we make so many minor decisions like getting on a train or not everyday without thinking about it, when they could in fact have a big effect on your life- probably not to the magnitude that this film makes out, but even so. I will definitely be watching this movie again, as it really is quite entertaining, and has many plot twists to keep you interested.

Zombieland is probably one of my favourite comedy films and even though it has a storyline largely based on a zombie apocoloypse in America, it has lots of moments of great dark humour that will honestly make you laugh out loud...

This movie is about four survivors of a zombie apocalypse who meet and try to survive and fight against the zombies together, in order to reach a supposed safe haven theme park in Los Angeles.

I have seen this film a few times now and I love it more and more each time- the comedy, the zombies and one character's persistent search for the last Twinkie make it one of the best films on Netflix in my opinion.

Finally, another one of my current favourites on Netflix is 50/50. I wasn't sure I was going to like this film, what with the cancer sufferer storyline which can sometimes be really sad to watch, but I gave it a go anyway and I really liked what I saw...

Adam is only in his 20's when he gets told he has tumours on his spine. He tries to stay positive about his 50/50 survival chances, but eventually treatments and life begin to get him down. His relationships with those closest to him are then are put under strain, especially the one with his new therapist Katie.

Despite the fact that this film is predominantly about cancer, I found it rather heart warming. I think that more films should be made like this one , films that don't sugar-coat the illness and the effect it has on people and relationships. I will definitely be watching this movie again, as I personally think it is one of the best Netflix currently has to offer- a good old tear jerker with a sprinkling of comedy.

Mac Lipstick Reviews- Chatterbox and Politely Pink

Tuesday, 26 May 2015

Hello Everyone,

For a few years now, I have had a bit of an obsession with lip products (lipsticks in particular). But, I only purchased my first Mac Lipstick a couple of months ago- I had been talking myself in and out of getting one for months, but then it was my Birthday and with the money I had been given I had no excuses. I now own two Mac Lipsticks ( I know, pretty pathetic in the grand scheme of things), but I hope to buy a lot more in the future as I genuinely think they are great products and worth the money -around £15.50). Over the next few weeks, I am going to be making a post about my Mac Lipstick Wishlist, to share with you some of the lipsticks I most want to purchase in the future.

The first Mac Lipstick that I purchased was Chatterbox. As you can tell, I have used it a fair bit as it is quite worn down but that just goes to show how much I like this product. It is a bright-ish medium pink colour that I thought would look lovely in the spring/summer months, as over the winter I had amassed quite a lot of darker lipsticks. Fortunately, it does look so cute now that it is spring. It gives a nice pop of colour to the lips, and it has a creamy texture that applies well and stays on the lips for a long time.

I only purchased my second Mac Lipstick, Politely Pink, a few days ago. After buying a brighter colour like Chatterbox only recently, I was looking out for a more shimmery, lighter shade this time and Politely Pink immediately caught my eye. I think this particular shade of lipstick would look nice all year round- it's subtle but still helps your lips to stand out either of a daytime or a nighttime. Unlike with Chatterbox, I haven't really used this product to its full potential just yet, but from the couple of times I have used it I can tell that I will continue to really like wearing it.

I know these were only very short reviews of these lipsticks, but I hope they gave you a bit of an overview about the products, and general idea about how good I think each of them to be.

What's your favourite Mac Lipstick? Please comment and tell me so I can gather some inspiration for when I next purchase one!

Summer Fashion Wishlist

Sunday, 24 May 2015

Hello Everyone,

Every time I go shopping lately, I spot so many things that I want to buy-so today I thought I would make a Wishlist of the things I like, and hopefully will get to buy in the future.

I will just briefly tell you about each thing I like, the price it is, and where it is from-starting from left to right on each row.

  • Forever 21 Black Suede Sandals - £15- I really like this kind of sandal (strappy, and with the toes open). I feel like these sandals in this particular colour would go nice with any outfit, day or night and at £15 I think they are a really brilliant price.
  • Forever 21 Denim Dress- £21- I have been looking for a nice denim dress for a while now, but whenever I find one I like they are always about £35/£40. That is the main reason I really want this dress- it is a good price and I know it will be good quality as other things I have had from Forever 21 normally are.
  • Accessorize Tote Bag - £25- The colour of this bag caught my eye when I recently visited Accessorize. I love the bags in there anyway, but this is just such a beautiful red that I really really want one!
  • Urban Outfitters Calvin Klein T-Shirt- £45- I don't think I will ever own a Calvin Klein T-shirt, as I won't be paying £45 for one anytime soon. But, in the meantime I can dream, and just wish that I can receive one for a birthday in the future or Christmas.
  • Dorothy Perkins Sandals- £10- I can't believe these sandals are so cheap (I think on the website they are actually £8, but in my local store they were £10). I really like this style of sandal anyway, but the price and the cute lilac strap have made me definitely want to own a pair of these.
  • Zara Denim Shorts - £17.99- Personally, I think £17.99 is really good for a pair of denim shorts. In the summer, when the weather is warm I practically live in denim shorts so desperately need a new pair for this year. These particular ones are from Zara's Trafaluc range, which I believe sells quite good denim products as I have had a few pairs of jeans from this range before.
  • Topshop Cropped Floral Camisole- £22- I love to wear camisoles in the summer, of a day and of a night. This one looks especially cute with its floral pattern, and as its cropped I think it would look nice with high-waisted jeans and shorts.
  • Topshop Bardot Top - £14- I really like these Bardot style tops as I think they look lovely in the summer with a bit of a tan. The colour of this particular top is really eye-catching, and I don't think that £14 is a bad price for a Topshop item either.
  • Asos Gingham Dress- £18- I spotted this dress whilst just scrolling through Asos and thought that it would look nice on just a summers day when I go shopping etc. Also, for £18 I don't think you could go wrong with this item, as Asos products are normally to a high standard.
Comment below and tell me the things that are currently on your Wishlist...

My Everyday Makeup Routine

Saturday, 23 May 2015

Today I thought I would share my Everyday Makeup Rountine with you, as I enjoy reading this sort of post myself and thought it would be fun to try out. In this post I am featuring the makeup that I wear for day to day use (e.g. When I go shopping, when I go to school etc..)

Firstly, I start by giving my skin a quick clean with either a makeup wipe or with some micellar water. I then dab some Maybelline Baby Skin Primer (£7.99) under my eyes, on my t zone and on my nose (generally in the areas that have the most pores and that need a bit of a boost). I then pop some Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream (£6.99) on my hand and apply it just as you would with foundation, using a foundation brush. I use BB cream instead of foundation, as I find it just generally works better with my skin-it is lighter and doesn't make me break out, but this may be completely different in other people's cases. Next, I dot some Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Cool Medium (£4.19) under my eyes, and in any areas that are looking a bit red or tired-I then also brush this in using a foundation brush. I then use my Benefit Boing Concealer (£17.50)to just cover up any blemishes I have- I apply this with a thin concealer brush. After that, I just give my face a quick brush of Rimmel Stay Matte Powder (£3.99) in Transparent. You can probably tell that I really like this powder as it is starting to run out, and there is now a whole circle missing in the middle of the pot. The final product that I use on my face is the Bourjois Bronzer and Highlighter Duo (£7.99). From this, I mostly just use the bronzer side but sometimes I also use the highlighter to add a hint of shine to my cheeks.

Firstly, on my eyes I apply my eyeliner- I know some people put eyeshadow on first but I just do it the other way round for some reason. I normally only use eyeliner when I have the time to do so and can be bothered, and when I do apply it I use the Soap and Glory Supercat (£6). Like many other people, I know the struggles of applying eyeliner- some days I can do perfect cat eye flicks, and then some days it just all goes wrong and I instead just draw a thin line of liner to help define my eyes. Then, I apply my eyeshadow. I use the Bourjois Smokey Stories Quad (£7.99) and when applying I usually start with the lightest brown shade and build up to end with dabbing a little of the central glittery shadow on my eyelids. To finish off my eyes, I just sweep on some Benefit They're Real Mascara (£19.50).

Eyebrows and Lips

To add the finishing touches to my everyday makeup look, I colour in my eyebrows with Soap and Glory Archery in the shade Brownie Points (£10.00). I really love this product as it lets me shade in my eyebrows whilst keeping them looking natural still. In this product there is a brow tint brush you use first and then a setting/precision pencil that you use after. Finally, for my lips, I normally just apply a lipgloss that looks quite natural but adds a bit of colour- in this case Benefit Bella Bamba (£14.50) is perfect. However, I'm not sure whether Benefit stock this product everywhere anymore, as I haven't seen it in Boots lately.

Well, there's my Everyday Makeup Routine. I hope you enjoyed reading about it, and comment below to tell me what sort of products you like to use :-)

My Favourite Places to Shop

Friday, 22 May 2015

Hello Everyone,

As I have only just started up my blog I am trying to post as often as possible- probably near enough everyday for the next couple of weeks, because I am off school so therefore have more free time.

However, I have had a couple of glitches with my blog which meant I had to repost a couple of things. Because of this it looks like I posted twice in the matter of 5 minutes but this was just because fonts and images weren't working properly before hand. Also, on my Bloglovin, it appears that I have posted my 40 Beauty Questions Tag three times. I haven't and am currently trying to get this solved through Bloglovin.

Hopefully, everything else will be okay now and I should be able to post without fault (fingers crossed anyway).

Anyway, today I thought I would do a quick post and share with you my current favourite places to shop...

Topshop is probably my current favourite place to shop. Like all people, I go through phases of where my favourite place to shop is-but right now, most of my clothes are from Topshop. All year round they sell so many great things, and every time I go there I always seem to spot loads of things I like. The quality of the items is also, what I believe to be, a very good standard. All the clothes I have from there wash well and fit well-this is a plus for me as I sometimes struggle to find t-shirts that fit around my chest( a lot of tops seem to hang on me as I don't possess a lot in the breast department). However, in Topshop, I can always seem to find something that fits-even if it means shopping in the petites section.

The only complaint I have about Topshop is that I'm not a fan of the jeans. They really do not seem to fit me in any way, shape or form and I find them really uncomfortable- but I think this may just be me and my wierd body shape.

Forever 21
Forever 21 is another one of my favourite shops and whenever I visit, it can be guaranteed that I will not leave without buying something. I love the amount of choice you have in Forever 21, and also the low prices that you can find everything to be at. The quality of products is also extremely good- this is another reason I love Forever 21 as sometimes quality can be lost as prices drop, but here that is not the case.

My only criticism about Forever 21, is that there aren't many stores in the UK and they are only in larger shopping centres, so I hardly get to visit. :-(

Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters is just one of those shops that I love to walk around. I love all the different sections for brands, home and also the books that I could spend hours scanning through. Yes, most of the products are pretty pricey (I normally only buy from here when there's a sale, or I'm treating myself), but everything is such good quality. The t-shirts and jumpers I have had from here are always so soft and comfortable that I wish I could buy more items from here.

Obviously, my only criticism of Urban Outfitters is the price, but I suppose that comes along with the brand names. However, I have picked up several items that I had seen previously at full price, in the sale so I suppose waiting can pay off with this shop.

I absolutely love how comfortable everything is in Hollister. It's one of my favourite places to buy jeans as they are always so well fitting and last for such a long time in such a good condition (I have had one pair for two years and they still look as good as new). Again, the prices can be steep in Hollister, but one thing I love is that there is always a sale section somewhere in the shop with really good items in, that are in fashion now and not cast offs from last season.

I don't really have an criticisms for Hollister, other than that the shops are really quite dark and I have nearly broke my neck a couple of times tripping over rugs- but I suppose that is all part of the experience :-)

Finally, we come to Zara. I also buy a lot of my jeans from here as they are, again, very comfortable and considerably cheaper than other brands like Hollister. I buy most of my clothes from the Trafaluc range in Zara as it is a very reasonable price for very fashionable products. In the Trafaluc range there are always so many nice dresses and slogan t-shirts that I always feel spoilt for choice.

However, as I have found in recent years, sales are a bit of a nightmare in Zara. I now steer clear of sale time in my nearest Zara as it is always way to busy and messy to even begin to look for a bargain-however this may be different in other Zara stores.

Well, there are my current favourite shops-all the opinions are my own of these brands and shops (people may have completely different feelings compared to me, as this is just what I like).

I hope you enjoyed reading, as this was quite a chatty post.

Please comment below and tell me your favourite shops...

Top 5 Spring/Summer Nail Polishes

Thursday, 21 May 2015

I have a real love of nail polishes and they are probably the first makeup products I remember buying and saving up my money for.

I especially love buying nail polishes for spring/summer, as you can always find such lovely bright colours that you couldn't get away with wearing so much in the winter months.

So, I thought I would share with you the 5 nail polishes that I am currently loving.

Essie Watermelon- £7.99- I have had this colour for about a year, but I tend to only get it out in the summer as it is a rather bright, dark pink. It looks so nice with a bit of a tan and actually applies really easily for a dark polish-I normally find you can see all the little leakages and mistakes. Most Essie nail polishes are really good quality products, and Watermelon is no exception-some people may think £7.99 is a bit steep for a nail polish, but I honestly believe this brand is worth every penny.

Topshop ButterMilk -£5- I actually bought this colour last autumn as I really wanted to try a Topshop nail polish as I had heard so many good things about them. I didn't really think about the colour at the time, I just picked a nude shade that would be versatile all year-and it is versatile all year, but I think it looks especially nice now that spring is here and summer is approaching. Also, I wasn't disappointed with the quality of Topshop nail varnishes either- they apply just as well as other brands that are sometimes more expensive.

Essie Play Date- £7.99- Another Essie nail polish, I know. But I honestly do really like Essie nail polishes-my Mum first bought me one for my birthday a few years back and since then I have been hooked. Play Date is another Essie staple that is yet again a great quality, and a beautiful bright colour that is prefect for this time of year.

Limited Collection Bright Coral- £4- I never really thought about Marks and Spencer's as a leading brand for nail polishes, but when my Mum bought me this a few weeks ago (yes, my Mum buys me a lot of nail polishes, as she knows she can't go wrong by buying me them) I realised that they actually sell really good quality products for a reasonably low price. This particular polish is a nice subtle orange that isn't too bright or sickly as some orange polishes can be. It is also ' Gel Shine' which I found quite intriguing when I first received it- however when I applied it I realised this just made it a little bit shinier and smoother than a regular polish.

OPI I just can't Cope-a cabana-£12.50- I adore yellow nail polishes in the summer, and when this particular one was released with OPI's Brazil collection last summer I just had to get it. OPI is another brand that I love- yes, they are quite expensive, but the polishes themselves are to such a good quality, and last such a long time without getting clogged up that I believe they are worth their price. This particular yellow didn't disappoint on the colour side of things either, as it is just a bright and summery as I expected and looks seriously good with a tan.

Well, those are my 5 Favourite Nail Polishes for Spring/Summer.

Comment below and tell me which nail polishes and brands you are currently loving...

Mini High Street Fashion Haul

Wednesday, 20 May 2015

Hello Everyone,

Yesterday I went on a bit of a shopping spree in Birmingham and ended up amassing a little haul of buys. The main shops I bought from were Forever 21, Primark and Topshop, and I thought I would share with you the bits and bobs I bought from each shop...

Firstly, I went to Forever 21. Now, I love Forever 21- it's products are such a good price and are also great quality, so it's a win win situation really. There aren't that many Forever 21's in the UK, my nearest one being in Birmingham, so whenever I get the chance to go I always end up buying a fair few things.

Make-Up Bag- £3.50- I really needed a new, cheap makeup bag, just to pop in my handbag and put my makeup in when I go out. I had seen on different blogs that a few people owned little makeup bags from Forever 21 and it made me really want one too. This particular one caught my eye as it is subtly pretty and can be easily wiped clean- also, for £3.50 you can't really go wrong.

Heart Earrings-£2-and-Necklace-£3.50- On most of my visits to Forever 21, I end up buying jewellery. They always have so much to choose from, and it's always so cheap so I'm immediately drawn in. I bought the necklace as I thought it was so pretty and would look really nice with just a plain t-shirt or shirt. I also bought the earrings as I have purchased earrings from Forever 21 before and they have lasted well and were such a good price, so I decided to buy some more.

Socks-£1- You can see these ice cream and cupcake ankle socks more clearly in a photo later on in the post, but I just thought they were really cute. Forever 21 are great for little socks like these, as they do so many different sorts and I believe they are all only £1. Also, normally socks like this can be quite plain and boring, but these are just so nice and I already own about 6/7 pairs of them that I just wear with my converse or other trainers.

Chinos-£21- You can see these trousers in the main photo for this post. I bought these slim fit chinos as I am always wearing jeans, and in the summer denim can sometimes feel a bit too heavy on my legs-especially when it is hot weather. The colour of these chinos is a really nice tan which will go with all sorts of tops, including the floral Topshop one that I have also featured in this post.

Next, I went to Topshop. As you can tell, I only got the one item from there but it was difficult to settle on this item as there is so much to choose from in Topshop at the moment.

Floral Vest-£16- In the end, I decided to have this floral top, that is a bit like a vest that is a tad cropped at the bottom. I had this because I don't have many summery, floral items in my wardrobe at the moment, and I also thought that it would go nicely with the chinos I purchased from Forever 21.

Finally, I went to Primark and I only bought one item from there too, as it was extremely busy and I was just on the look out for one thing.

Running T-Shirt -£5 - I have recently started going running, and have also noticed that Primark sell good running clothes for me to wear when I do. A few weeks back I bought a hoodie from there which was only £10 (very cheap considering what other brands ask you to pay for virtually the same sort of product), so when I needed a new t-shirt for running I went straight to Primark as well. They have quite a large range of products for sports and keeping fit, but I just wanted a basic top so choose the grey one.

I hope you have enjoyed this kind of post, as I know I enjoyed writing it.

This was only a small, and quite random haul, but hopefully in the future I will do larger ones.
